Sarah Tabane was born in Johannesburg, in 1968. She currently lives and works in Johannesburg. She studied art at the Johannesburg Art Foundation between the years 1988 to 1992. She participated the two Johannesburg Biennales as trainee curator. Tabane has exhibited extensively locally and internationally. Her various public and private collections include Oxfam, and the National Gallery in Cape Town.
